Cat water fountain product video ad: Black Swift

About a 2-minute read

I created this cat water fountain product video ad for Black Swift. The commercial shows cats drinking from a white fountain, a person moving it, and close views of the water as it flows.

The finished ad runs for about 30 seconds. It pairs a view of the whole product with details that need a closer look. The photos in this post come from the same Black Swift shoot.

Water flows into the metal tray of a white Black Swift cat water fountain.

Product details shown in this ad

The opening shows the fountain beside a cat. Later scenes show a black cat drinking from it. Those views place the product next to the pet it is made for.

Other shots bring the water tray closer. You can see water coming up through the center and moving across the metal surface. A still photo shows the shape of that tray. The video shows the motion too.

The ad also shows a person lifting and setting down the fountain. The wider view gives the viewer a look at the product beside a person's hands and body. The edit returns to the fountain on its own before the Black Swift end card.

Give moving details a place in the brief

If part of your product moves, name that detail before the shoot. A flowing stream, a turning part, or an opening lid may need a close view as well as a wider one.

Include those views in your brief with the full product and its use. That gives your video team a clear set of shots to plan. For a pet product, also name the animal and the action you need to show.

My guide to what a product video should include covers the wider brief. You can also explore my product video and content services.
